Haselden will contribute 5% to your 401K. The money Haselden contributes has a 5 year vesting schedule.

“Vesting” in a retirement plan means ownership. This means that each team member will vest, or own, a certain percentage of their account in the plan each year. A team member who is 100% vested in his or her account balance owns 100% of it and the employer cannot forfeit, or take it back, for any reason. Amounts that are not vested may be forfeited by team membe when they are paid their account balance.
At Haselden, our 5 year vesting schedule means that your ownership of employer contributions will increase 20% each year until you are fully vested at 5 years. If you were to leave before that, you will only keep the percentage of employer contributions you are vested at. I.E. if you have been here two years you are vested at 40% meaning if you were to leave you would get to keep 40% of anything Haselden contributed to your 401k.

Your 401k money will go with you to your next job. If your new employer has a different carrier, you will have to fill out a form to transfer your existing balance to your new account.
